Kannon Sui (Water of Kannon)

Water of limestone cave

One of source upstreams of Hijikawa River, Kannon Sui naturally generates water gushing from a limestone cave. The name of the spring water is based on ancient legend that a 12th century samurai placed a Kannon statue by the water source when he was after by army of prevailing Gunji.
Naturally infiltrated through limestone layers, the water contains appropriate minerals and is an important source for local tap waters and aquaculture.
