Springs of Yamizogawa

 

Originates at Ibaraki's highest Yamizo Mountain, Yamizogawa River is full of rich nature and high-quality natural spring waters. At Yamizo Mountain there sit so called "5 Waters", each of which has unique name, "Gold Water", "Silver Water", "Iron Water", "White Hair Water", "Dragon Hair Water", all said to be named by the great general of Mito Mitsukuni of reigning Tokugawa family in Edo-era.
Most popular of the 5 is "Gold Water", understandable by the legend that it was the very favorite of Mito Mitsukuni.


Location: Daigo-machi, Kuji-gun, Ibaraki prefecture
Transportaiton: Drop at "Hitachi Daigo" station on JR Suigun Line, take a bus for Hebiana and drop at Hebiana, then 15 minutes by taxi. Or 1 hour by car from Daigo Station
