Egawa-no-Yusui (Springs of Egawa)

Exceptional water temperature

A water source known for its rare natural phenomenon of unique slides of water temperature. Temperature of spring water at this source goes down to 10 degrees Celsius in summer and rises to 20 degrees in winter. In former Kamoshima Town the source is located nearby a dike by Egawa, one of branch streams of Yoshino River or largest river in Shikoku region.
It has not yet been scientifically revealed why these unique moves of temperature occur. So strange that generally unfamiliar flower, water lilies, bloom by the water source in winter time.
Local municipal body is taking various measures to preserve the natural environment at the site in order to keep the rare phenomenon by the nature.
