Global Waters recently conducted a field research at Tokikawa Hot Spring which is located in outskirts of Chichibu mountains in Saitama prefecture, northern neighbor to Tokyo.
For its highly remarkable characteristics as one of Japan's highest alkali natural waters, if not the highest, The Hot Spring Water at Tokikawa was introduced in a high school chemistry textbook which concluded the natural water has the highest pH level in Japan.
The special hot spring water gushes at Tokikawa Spa Restaurant. The gushing volume is not large with around 4L per minute, we have actually tested the pH of the hot spring water at its very source.
The official pH degree of the spring water is 11.3. With permission of the Spa Restaurant, we received sample water from them and measured the water's pH degree. Our tester showed pH of 11.15, suggesting that its value at freshly gushed may have been around 11.3 with elapsed time taken into account.

The Spa Restaurant of Tokikawa accepts only 4 guest groups a day for preserving precious spring water and also because of high level of hospitality the spa promises to each guest.
